Large bowl Ø 40 cm – Brown

Product information "Large bowl Ø 40 cm – Brown"

Two native grass varieties are used in every basket and bowl from ‘Bwindi Handmade Crafts’. These are gathered by hand in the villages surrounding Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

The sturdy Eshingye (deer grass) forms the framework of the bowl. It is sturdy enough to retain its shape for years. The delicate patterns and decorations, on the other hand, are created using Obuhivu (raffia). This grass is softer and therefore ideal for weaving the intricate details.

Plant-based dyes derived from roots, leaves and herbs are used for colouring. As each piece is dyed slightly differently, no two pieces are alike.
