A hand-knitted soft toy with character: this GORILLA from Kenana Knitters was crafted stitch by stitch by a knitter in Njoro, Kenya.
Since 1998, Kenana Knitters has supported over 300 knitters in the rural village communities around Njoro. A special technique is used to produce the wool for each soft toy: recycled bicycle wheels have been converted into spinning wheels, which the knitters use to spin the wool into yarn by hand – before it is transformed, entirely by hand, into a soft toy such as this gorilla
