Ashwagandha powder

Product information "Ashwagandha powder"

Ashwagandha, also known as Indian ginseng, thrives in dry regions and is therefore also grown in Africa’s arid climate. It is cultivated by small-scale producers and harvested in the wild, rather than being grown in traditional fields. The dried and ground roots are then processed into powder and packaged at Kazi Yetu’s women-led factory.

Did you know

The ashwagandha plant grows as a perennial shrub and is very undemanding: it thrives on barren, dry, sandy soils where many other crops would struggle to survive. The name ‘Ashwagandha’ comes from Sanskrit and literally means ‘smell of the horse’ – a reference to the characteristic, earthy, pungent scent of the freshly harvested root.
